We gave this product to our Mum Siobhan whose daughter was about to make the transition from basket to bedroom! What a perfect time to try out this new nightlight. Here is Siobhan’s review

The Product: Tomy Winnie the Pooh Nightlight

Your Name: Siobhan Skinner

Age of child trialing the product – 6 months

Gender of child trailing the product – Female

Duration of trial : 1 month

I love Winnie the Pooh so a big thumbs up already, also the design with Winnie holding a balloon is very cute. My little one really liked it as it is brightly coloured and she wanted to keep grabbing it so would need to be somewhere out of the reach of little hands!

Entertainment value:

Star Rating: 3

Not so much ‘entertainment’ more ‘relaxation’ value in this case! The balloon Winnie is holding lights up and casts lovely multicoloured stars lights on the walls and ceiling. It also plays an instrumental repertoire of nursery rhymes. There are two settings – one for lights and music and one for lights only. I actually preferred the light only setting as I found that the combined setting wasn’t very relaxing for little one as the light flashed a bit when changing between the different colours.

Built to Last:

Star Rating: 5

Very robust with no flimsy bits that could break. Easy to operate by pushing Winnie’s head. I could definitely see this one lasting well and wearing well too.

Value for money:

Star rating:4

Compared to other night lights on the market, this is good value for money. It also doubles up as a cute ornament and is a versatile an adorable addition to a nursery!

What you like about it?

It’s cute and functional. The lightshow element of it certainly helped my little girl’s transition into her big room and is now used as part of her night time routine. It calms her and focuses her mind from distractions so she can drift off to sleep.

What you don’t like about it

It’s a real shame that when on the music/light setting, the light flashes a bit which is not as relaxing as the static setting.

What could make it even better?

As it is, it is a great product and good value for money, however there are a few tweaks that would make it perfect – lights to be calmer when on colour change setting and also a volume control on music.

Would you recommend this product to a friend?

Yes especially if they were a Winnie the Pooh fan. I would however encourage them to check first if it will work in their nursery as it needs to be on a shelf out of little one’s reach but close enough to wall and ceiling so light show can be seen in its full glory.

Would you buy this product?

Yes

This was a great product to introduce when we moved our little girl into her own room. The calming and pretty stars light show has definitely contributed to making the transition successful. It is particularly good when she is just on the edge of sleep/wakefulness and needs some encourage to relax and allow herself to drift off. As an added bonus it is very cute and Winnie – what’s not to like!?!

Take It From Mummy would like to thank TOMY UK for providing their product for review and also to Siobhan for her review and her kind donation to our charity for the product. x
