Housekeeper Job at Little Angels

Job Purpose:

To ensure a clean and tidy, sanitary, safe and welcoming environment.


Hours Between 9am and 1pm and 4-6pm approximately but can be flexible with this

Who we are looking for

We are looking for a Housekeeper who will will create and maintain a clean and hygienic environment for our nursery team, parents and children each day. We are looking for someone to work Monday to Friday on a part time contract.

As Housekeeper you will be a dedicated, flexible and a reliable team member who will clean the nursery to a high standard in accordance with the specification set by the nursery manager. You will be responsible for complying with relevant nursery risk assessments and attending to general housekeeping duties while ensuring the nursery is kept to a high standard at all times.

Your responsibilities will include:

General cleaning duties including touch point cleaning, polishing, vacuum cleaning, dusting and odd jobs as required

  • Replenishing soap, toilet roll, handtowels etc in all toilet areas and staff areas within the nursery.
  • Put away all deliveries of cleaning products in designated areas in the cellar, liaising with the office with regards to ordering more stock as and when necessary.
  • Empty all rubbish receptacles, and ensure all receptacles are clean and hygienic
  • Daily deep cleaning of all nursery areas, including kitchen, toilet and bathroom areas.
  • Clearing away after mealtimes.
  • Washing and drying all nursery and kitchen washing, carefully following instructions of items to be laundered.
  • Ensuring compliance with all nursery policies, including Health and Safety and have a good knowledge of COSHH
  • Any other duties / tasks that may be appropriate to the post, as directed by the Nursery Manager
  • Ensure that the nursery is cleaned to a high standard.
  • Immediately report any safety concerns to the Nursery Manager.

Qualified Childcare Nursery Nurse Practitioner

Job description

We are looking for a L2 or L3 Qualified Childcare Nursery Nurse Practitioner to join our vibrant and friendly Day Nursery

We are based in a busy but warm, caring and supportive setting. We offer a safe, stimulating, age appropriate and spacious environment for the children to feel engaged and supported. We have excellent indoor and outdoor facilities offering the children a place they can learn and thrive.

Ideally, we would request candidates have an NVQ level 2 or above. We encourage career progression within our nursery.

Preferred qualifications, training and experience:

  • A relevant level 2 or higher early years’ qualification. Applicants who have already gained an NVQ 2 in early years education and childcare and are considering working towards an NVQ 3. 
  • Experience of working in an early years’ setting is essential
  • Up to date training in safeguarding children and child protection (or be prepared to train to obtain this)
  • Paediatric First Aid (or be prepared to train to obtain this)
  • A sound knowledge of the new EYFS framework, and can demonstrate this.
