Pumpkins R Us – Kenilworth

Local favourites Pumpkins R Us are back with hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins to choose from, a cafe selling drinks, a spooky shop and halloween tent Pumpkins R Us is well worth a visit this Half Term.

Malt Kiln Farm Shop

Pick your own pumpkins open Friday 11th October all the way through to Halloween. All you need to do is turn up, take a wheel barrow and pick. We have a wide variety to choose from including white, blue, baby and knobbly all in varying sizes. It has rained! There maybe some mud involved, bring your wellies!!

Hatton Adventure World – Pumpkin Week

Local favourites Hatton Adventure World are once again hosting a Pumpkin Week where all visitors can choose their own pumpkin from a field full! Hatton also have a NEW Haunted house, bewitching trailer ride, scales & tails, magic illusion show & wizards masterclass. If you’re not a pass holder it’s wise to book online to save some dosh.

Packwood House, Baddesley Clinton & Coughton Court

Saturday 26th October – Sunday 3rd November.  11- 3:30pm. Spooky Outdoor Trail with activities. £2.50 charge for the trail and take home activities.

Join the teams at Packwood, Baddesley Clinton & Coughton Court this October half term for a whole week of fiendish fun and frights for the whole family to enjoy on our Halloween trails, discover Packwood’s Welly Walk with our trail all about local folklore stories and enjoy Baddesley’s vegetable garden. Find all the clues and complete the trail to receive a tasty treat and activity booklet to complete at home.

Pop along to the café at Packwood for a Halloween themed treat and colouring sheets to keep the little ones busy!

Kenilworth Castle

Family Fright Nights at Kenilworth Castle from Friday 25th October – Thursday 31st October

Book before Thursday Oct 24th to recieve 10% discount. 

Are you brave enough to explore the castle after dark? Join us for a terrifying treat this Halloween and wander the spine-chilling ruins of Kenilworth Castle. There are two different ticketed times during each night. The 6-7.30pm slot is suitable for families with children aged between 5 and 10 years and the 7.30-10pm slot is suitable for families with children aged over 10 years.

As the castle gates creak open you’ll soon discover you’re not alone, as creepy characters from the past make themselves known. You will be transported to a world where gruesome goings-on are commonplace. Don’t miss malevolent monks, a court jester who took one trick too far and a hangman haunted by his victims.

Kenilworth Castle has been named as one of English Heritage’s most haunted sites, have you got what it takes to experience our Fright Night? Prepare for a scare… it’s going to be a scream!

Spooky Kenilworth Castle With Creepy Critters

Sat 26 Oct – Sun 3 Nov 2019  – 11am – 4pm

A feast of frightening fun awaits at Kenilworth Castle this half term. Gather your little monsters for a ghoulishly good day-out, with wicked crafts and a spooktacular Halloween quest around the castle. Little horrors can also get up-close to a host of real life ‘beasts’! Meet some amazing animals – including snakes, spiders and more – and learn all about these creepy crawly creatures.

The Haunted Castle comes alive this Halloween! 19th October – 3rd November 2019

Join a spooky Halloween trail and journey through the enchanted Hollows where you’re sure to meet creepy characters at every turn. NEW Junior Ghost Hunt, Witches tower and join a host of bizarre characters throughout the day for fun, games and spooktacular shows at the Dead Centre Stage.

Its almost Halloween and there has been some strange goings on in the park! Can you collect the clues along the spooky trail and claim your Halloween badge prize?!

British Motor Museum

Recycled Rockets – Every day 11am until 3pm with last entry at 2.30pm. 

Come and make your own rocket out of recycled materials.

Rocket K’nex cars with MOD Kineton – Monday to Friday ONLY. 11am until 3pm with last entry at 2.30pm

Design and build your own Rocket K’nexCar and see how far it travels from the pneumatic rocket launch. This activity is delivered by the STEM ambassadors from MOD Kineton.

Black Cat Trail – Every day 10am to 5pm

It wouldn’t be October half term without our popular Halloween Black Cat Trail! Search around the Museum for the hidden black cats and with your torch discover the colour of each cats eyes! Available every day, just pick up a trail sheet from our Family Activity Station by the main entrance and remember to return for your ‘spooky’ treat! Suitable for all the family.

Saturday 26th October

Halloween party in the woodland – Foundry Wood 2pm – 6pm

Join us for our annual Halloween Party in the woodland.

Halloween-themed crafts and entertainment for all ages, food around the campfire – soup, baked potatoes, hot drinks. Free entry – donations welcome.

Little Trot Of Horrors – Ryton Pools 

Saturday 26th October 2019 10-11:00am tickets £5 each

Come and join in with the spooky story of Halloween at Ryton Pools! Join your friendly, ghostly guide in the courtyard and join in with the spooky games as you explore! Can you find all of Old Warty’s boxes in her garden? How DID that giant spider find it’s way to Ryton Pools? This event is designed for younger children or those who may find the fright night a little too scary in the dark.

There will be four bookable hourly guided “trots” around the activities.

Tickets required for children attending only, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is suitable for children aged 3 years + although under 5’s will need additional help doing the activity.

Old Warty’s Halloween Family Fun Night

Bring the whole family to Ryton Pools for a spooky evening of Halloween fun and games with Old Warty the witch and friends! This evening event includes a ride on the ghost train, the halloween Teddy Hospital and Old Warty the Witches Haunted Garden. You can also visit the Tunnel-web Spider Lair, Bat Cave, Clumsy Ranger trail and other areas during the evening! Don’t forget to bring your own carved, named pumpkin to put out in Old Wartys Pumpkin Patch to be judged by the visitors! A prize will be awarded to the top pumpkin and winner announced on Facebook after the event!

The Courtyard Cafe will be open all evening selling hot food and Halloween treats at additional cost and the Visitors Centre will be open selling Halloween gifts and goodies! Please bring a torch and a teddy for patching up in the hospital!

An event suitable for children aged 4 years + who must be accompanied by an adult. PLEASE NOTE: Only ONE ADULT PER CHILD will be permitted on the ghost train to keep queue times down.

Booking is essential. Cost is £11 per child. There is no adult ticket this year.

(Parking for this event will be FREE).

The Royal Spa Centre – Sunday 27th October 2pm – Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs: The Magic Cutlass.

Captain Flinn is ready for an adventure! Les Petits theatre company return to the high seas after their hugely successful shows David Walliams’ The First Hippo on the Moon and Adventures in Wonderland.

The Magic Cutlass is the highly anticipated sequel based on the award-winning book by Giles Andreae and Russell Ayto. Tickets available here

Autumn Fairy and Elf Adventure to The Magic Kingdom at Ryton Pools

Come and make a magic willow wand and discover what things the naughty goblins have been up to in the woods. See if you can find the key to the magic kingdom and use some wishing magic to see if the fairies are about. Tickets required for children attending only, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Learn to hand carve a flower drop in- Foundry Wood 10am – 12:30pm

In 2019 Matt Cox will be running these workshops on Thursdays & Fridays during half term.

Price: £7 for adults, £3 for under 16s, £10 for families. Take home the flowers you make!

Come along to the woods and learn a traditional coppice craft of carving flowers. A friendly instructor will be on hand to guide to guide you through the use of tools and equipment. Make your own flowers to take them away with you! They make ideals gifts and home decorations.

Suitable for age 7 upwards. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult. Booking not essential, just turn up! Click here for more info. 

Willow Wizard and Witch Wands at Ryton Pools Country Park

Thursday 31st October 10:30 – 12:00 & 1.30pm – 3pm.  Just imagine having a wand like Harry Potter to get you out of all sorts of tricky situations! Find a magical stick – or better still, let it find you! And the rangers will help you turn it into something really special and magical.

Tickets required for children attending only, all children must be accompanied by an adult.

This event is suitable for children aged 3 years + although under 5’s will need additional help doing the activity. Tickets are £4 per child, available here

The British Motor Museum 

‘Professor Pickle’ & ‘Doctor Pumpkin’ are back again for some Rocket fuelled fun science!

Thursday 31 October – 11am, 1pm and 2pm. 

Join us for a 25 minute live spooky spectacular full of cool interactive demonstrations and rocket inspired science. Sign up at the Family Station and be ready for some ‘rocketing’ fun!

NOTE: All activities are included in Museum admission. There is no need to pre-book, just drop by the Family Activity station when you arrive to find out what is going on when! All activities are suitable for 3+ years, unless otherwise specified. Click here for more info

Sticky Campfire Apples & Survival Dens at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and have some fun designing and building your own woodland shelter that’s camouflaged, big enough for your team and waterproof…. ish!! The Rangers will be on hand to provide tips, materials and help. When all the shelters are built we will light a small fire to make some sticky campfire toffee apples!
