HOW IT WORKS

Book Swap Tokens:

When you donate your books, you will receive one token per book up to a maximum of five tokens per attendee. You can donate as many books as you wish. At the book swap we will accept one token per book. From 2:30pm you will also have the opportunity to purchase remaining books at 50p per book with all proceeds to our charity By Your Side – Supporting perinatal mental illness.

From 2:30pm we will allow people to donate 50p per book for any remaining books we have left. All proceeds to our charity By Your Side so please bring some cash if you’d like to purchase some fantastic books at a bargain price.

Books we accept:

ALL Books MUST be in new or nearly new condition. Please only donate books in the condition you would expect to receive them in when you choose yours at the book swap. In particular PLEASE check children’s books, sometimes there’s rips & scribbles you might not be aware of.

  • Children’s books suitable for all ages from babies up to teens, both fiction & non-fiction.
  • Adult fiction & Non fiction.
  • Recipe books are accepted but please only donate recipe books in very good condition. We may stop collecting recipe books if we receive too many as these we not as popular at our last swap.

Where to donate your books:

Once you have registered for your tickets your confirmation email will have all the drop-off points listed.

You will be able to drop off books up until Friday 30th October – then collections will cease. This is to allow us time to sort the books into categories ready for the big day.

Would you like to be involved?:

We would love to hear from anyone who would like to be involved on the day. We are looking for volunteers to man tables & take tokens in exchange for books. We’d love to hear from you if you can provide some entertainment on the day, such as story-telling or running a book-related craft area. Please fill out this short form if you’re able to give your time to this event.

Whitnash Civic Centre is fully accessible for wheelchair users, however, we would like to request that where possible, you try to leave pushchairs at home due to space.
