Captain Flinn & The Pirate Dinosaurs 2: The Magic Cutlass – Sunday 18th February

The Bridge House Theatre is situated in the heart of the Warwick Schools Foundation on the Myton Road in Leamington. It has plenty of parking and is perfect for families due to the size of theatre and location.

Family Parties at The Royal Priors

Family Parties are back in the Royal Priors for February Half Term. Once again, we will have an inflatable, soft play, colouring in, and for the adults… bean bags to sit and relax. We’ll be raising money for a very worthwhile children’s charity Zoe’s Place.


British Motor Museum

Mini Motorists, Under  5’s Activity Mornings, 

 Monday 19 February – 10.30 – 12.00pm

Enjoy the Museum’s Mini Motorist under 5’s activity mornings and discover through play, the world’s largest collection of historic British cars.

Drop-in between 10.30am and 12pm and explore the Museum with your toddler.

Join us for a special selection of activities that are designed with the 5’s and under in mind. There are lots of interactive and enjoyable things to do to keep little ones entertained. All Mini Motorists activities are included in the entry price.

Facilities: We have a children friendly Café with high chairs and children’s lunch box meals as well as excellent coffee, tea and cake. There are baby changing facilities on the Museum level located in the disabled toilet. There is a lift or escalator to the Café, but the Museum is all on one level and buggy friendly. Buggy parking is available.

There is no need to pre- book for any of the Mini Motorists sessions, you are welcome to just come along on the day. But you can buy your Museum ticket in advance online – under 5’s are FREE, adults are £14 and concessions £12. There is also the option to Gift Aid or donate your entry fee and get an Annual Pass at no extra cost, which means you can come back for all the sessions.

Design, build or colour your own ‘Star Car’ with a choice of themed craft activities: Make a Star Car , Lego® Star Car, Design a Car for a ‘Star’!

Parker & Penelope Tours – 11.45am and 1.30pm
Join our costumed guides Parker, or Lady Penelope on a ‘Star Car’ family tour of the Museum, meet at the Family activity station in the Welcome Gallery at 11.45am or 1.30pm.

Star Car Trail -10am – 5pm
Explore the ‘Star Cars’ in our collection by following this self-guided trail. Simply pick up a trail sheet from the Family Activity Station in the Welcome Gallery.

Jephsons Jungle Club  20th February, 10:00-12:30

Come to the Glass House in Jephsons Gardens in Leamington Spa. We will be making bird feeders and a craft robin to take home. This is a free the activity which will take around 15 minutes.


David Walliams’ – Awful Auntie – Live on Stage

Warwick Race Course Family Fun Day – Friday 23rd February

Budbrooke Chase Family Fun Day, 23rd February 2018 – 12:35 – 5.20PM

We welcome you to gallop along to Warwick to enjoy something fun on a Friday, for just a fiver!

Some great racing too, with the valuable Budbrooke Chase taking place and live music as you enter the course from The Peas, and balloon art from Mr Twister.

Bring the kids along, for some half-term entertainment. Remember they can go racing for free!

Delve into the world of crafting and collaging with fabric as you redesign two very famous flags.

Saturday 24 February
Pop! Bang! Boom! (Free craft activity)
Colour, cut and layer your own comic book style onomatopoeia art and turn into a funny badge to adorn your outfit with.

Arty Splats – The Tiger Who Came To Tea Session

Monday 19th February – Frosty Fairy and Elf Adventure to the Magic Kingdom at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and make a magic willow wand and discover what things the naughty goblins have been up to in the woods! See if you can find the key to the magic kingdom and use some wishing magic to see if the fairies are about in fairy forest. An event for children aged 3 years and above, who must be accompanied by an adult.

Tuesday 20th February – Pine Cone Feeders at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and get messy and have a go at making your own pine cone feeder to feed the birds in your garden during the colder weather! Learn a little about the birds visiting your garden and have a peak out of our windows to see who’s on our feeders. Wrap up warm as we will make them outside and you may get messy!

Wednesday 21st February – Toddler Trundle at Ryton Pools Country Park

A weekly event for the tiniest of tots! Leaf fun, stories, mud pies and collecting treasures will be amongst some of our activities designed for the smallest naturalists. After the walk and activities, head back to The Courtyard Café for refreshments (extra cost for refreshments, exclusive reduced- price Toddler Trundle menu available). A quarterly programme is available from the Visitor Centre giving activity details for each week.

10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. Meet: The Visitor Centre Courtyard. Cost: £2.50 per toddler (excluding refreshments)

Thursday 22nd February – Bird Boxes at Ryton Pools Country Park

Make a nest box for this year’s nesting birds. Find out fascinating facts about these birds and where the best place to put up your nest box is. Take a look around the courtyard using our homes trail sheet, along with our bird watching specialist Ranger, to see who lives where. Up to two children can make 1 box between them. Suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years who must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a hammer!

Friday 23rd February – Campfire and Dens at Ryton Pools Country Park

Come and have some fun discovering how to design and build your own woodland shelter that’s camouflaged, big enough for your team and waterproof … ish! The Rangers will be on hand to provide tips, materials and help. When all the shelters are built we will light a small fire and toast some marshmallows. An event for children aged from 3 years, who must be accompanied by an adult. Children under 5 will need adult supervision during the activity.

Redwings Horse Sanctuary

Open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only 10 – 4. Redwings is a lovely place to visit with the children where you can see horses and donkeys being looked after by the sanctuary. You can ‘adopt’ a horse and enjoy the small cafe and playground. Redwings is all outside so wait for good weather.

Foundry Wood

Foundry Wood

Foundry Wood is a managed access community woodland. Through volunteer work parties the site is fully accessible with paths and facilities for all to use.

If you have small people who like trains, they will love watching the trains zoom past from the top of the wood and you can even take your dog for a walk through the woods or build a den. A lovely little place to visit if you have an hour to kill, we advise parking in Victoria Park and walking across.

The woodland is open usually between 10am – 5pm for adventures.

A Tiger’s Tale

Do you National Trust? There’s loads of local National Trust properties in Warwickshire, Baddesley Clinton, Packwood House, Charlecote Park , Coughton Court.

Thinking of getting a National Trust membership? Here’s a top tip..

A family membership for two adults & up to 10 children is £114.60 a year or £9.55 a month BUT if you buy on the National Trust Scotland site here it will cost £90 a year for two adults and up to four children National Trust Scotland Membership is world wide, so includes all the UK properties, you can see the list here.

Run free at:

St Nicks Park, Warwick – With large playground, cafe, crazy golf, fun fair in summer months, skateboard ramps and a nice measured mile walk St Nicks is a popular choice. – Pay for parking.

Oakley Woods – Yes there’s a cemetery there but park to the left and you can explore beautiful woodland for miles and miles, dog friendly and the seasons are stunning with snowdrops in winter and bluebells around Easter. Build dens, explore & remember your wellies! Free – no parking charge.

Victoria Park, Leamington Spa – Playground, sandpit for small people, skate ramps and a circular path perfect for biking, scooting and running off steam. – Free Parking

If you’re heading to Victoria Park you can head over the road to Foundry Wood where you can spend an hour or so exploring woodland and watching the trains go by.

Ryton Pools it’s in our guide above but Ryton Pools deserves a special mention aside from the activities they run during the holiday, it’s a beautiful place to visit all year round, again perfect for bike rides, it has two big adventure playgrounds a cafe and gorgeous long walks. Perfect for running off steam. Just pay for parking and enjoy.

Looking to travel for adventure?

You could try one of these:

Go Plane spotting at Sheldon Country Park, right next to Birmingham airport, the planes fly right over your head! Perfect place for a picnic in nicer weather and it also has a children’s play area and cafe.

Salcey Forest – About an hour’s drive from Leamington Spa, Salcey Forest is a Forestry Commission forest which has an adventure playground, cafe, long stunning walks with opportunities to off road, build dens and climb the stunning tree top walk with gorgeous views from the top. We love it because its dog, pushchair, bike and scooter friendly, Just pay for parking  £4 all day.

Cannock Chase Forest – Woodland walks, the Midlands best bike trails and adventure playground. Cannock Chase is highly recommended for a fun day out a little further afield. You can even Go Ape if you fancy extra adventure!
