whats on in warwickshire February half term

Foundry Wood Activities

foundry wood

Foundry Wood is a managed access community woodland. Through volunteer work parties the site is fully accessible with paths and facilities for all to use. If you have small people who like trains, they will love watching the trains zoom past from the top of the wood and you can even take your dog for a walk through the woods. A lovely little place to visit if you have an hour to kill, we advise parking in Victoria Park and walking across.

The woodland is open usually between 10am – 5pm for adventures.

PIZZA MAKING SESSION

Sunday 19th February – 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Come and make a pizza, watch it being cooked in our wood fired pizza oven and eat it in the woodland clearing.

£4 per pizza, but be prepared to wait if it’s busy as we can only cook one pizza at a time! Drop in at any time during the session.

FIRE LIGHTING BY FRICTION

Saturday 25th February- 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm

The main theme of this workshop will explore lighting fire using the bow drill technique. Our instructor will explain the process of making the bow drill and attendees will get chance to have a go themselves.
Expect to be introduced to a range of natural tinder found in UK woodland as well as several other novel approaches to fire lighting including the parabolic mirror and fire piston.
A must do workshop for fire lovers.
All equipment is provided including tea, coffee and biscuits.
