A Summer’s Day – My Little Blog

Since we wrote our little Summer Bucket List we have been having a very busy Summer holiday and it’s only the first week! The sun has been beaming and so have we!

There’s something about making memories in the sunshine and as they say, ‘The Best Things In Life Are Free’, so while my youngest little one was at nursery this morning my daughter and I decided to have some girlie time.

We have driven past Chesterton Windmill many a time, we have stopped to take sunset pictures but never actually taken the walk up the hill. My daughter seems drawn to the landmark and when we talked about the things she would like to do together this summer, the windmill was at the top of her list!

This morning the sun was shining so we packed our bits and off we headed. We had races around the mill and lay on the grass making pictures out of the clouds above. If you’ve never been, the views are so beautiful and you feel as though you’re miles away from anywhere. We really are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of England.windmill

On the way home a little voice from the back of the card said “Mummy..can we go to the shops now?” So girlie shopping trip it was! We headed to the nearest retail park and off we went. After a bit of browsing we found ourselves in Next and decided to try on some of their new season’s collection, we had such a giggle especially when Olivia tried on the high heels!

She found the perfect T-shirt as you will see! I seem to have a diva in the making. Excuse my face, I do normally look happy!! Haha! Loving the new season’s black pleated skirt which I put with a simple white vest 🙂 Hope you like our #changingroomselfie

A wonderful day making memories, and just another reminder for me that you don’t need to spend hundreds of pounds to make some beautiful memories in the school holidays, today didn’t cost us a penny and it’s been one of those lovely days that we’ll never forget!
